Cranberry dehydration system based on Industry 4.0

This project describes the design, development, and implementation of a Cranberry Dehydration System based on Industry 4.0, which will be composed of a digital platform that will help control the variables involved in cranberry dehydration, through of a series of electronic processing devices that will communicate the different necessary sensors.

With this, it will be possible to know the general state of each cranberry dehydration module, taking into account variables such as temperature, relative humidity, and ventilation power in a controlled environment within the dehydration device. In order to expedite the decision-making process and the production of dried cranberry, as well as the reduction of time in this process, contributing to the progress of the methods implemented and the reduction of manual intervention in product management.

Description

The system consists of four main parts, which are: sensors, processing devices, data transmission modules, and platform monitoring.

Sensors: they will be devices whose function is to measure the variables involved in cranberry dehydration and other data, which are of interest for monitoring the general state of the crops and are useful for making decisions related to their care.

Processing devices: devices intended to process the data coming from the sensors and interpret them, creating and structuring information relevant to the system.

Data transmission modules: modules necessary to establish the connection between the digital monitoring platform and the processing devices in which they will be integrated. Its function is to send the information coming from the sensors and structured by the processing devices to the central server where the digital monitoring platform will be implemented.

Digital monitoring platform: its function will be to monitor data from electronic devices placed in dehydration devices (sensors, processing devices, and data transmission modules), incorporating graphs, reports, and a system control panel. You can view and store data in a database destined for its implementation in the system and the storage of the data related to the current state of the product, based on Industry 4.0 techniques.
