Monitoring, communications and support platform for vehicles connected in smart cities.

In the aforementioned project, a multimedia electronic device called MUVES was developed, capable of establishing communication with other vehicles through a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications protocol, in addition to having a suite of apps for navigation, entertainment, and security of the drivers. In addition to this, a Big Data Cluster was developed capable of processing, storing and generating indicators for the MUVES suite of apps.

Description

The present project proposes the design, development, and implementation of a monitoring, support, and communications platform for vehicles connected in smart cities, which allows the development of a network device, capable of forming a wireless communications trunk using Defined Radio technologies by Software (SDR, for its acronym in English) or 802.11, which allows intercommunication of Vehicles to Infrastructure (V2I) and Infrastructure to Infrastructure (I2I), and that can also contain a series of sensors to monitor environmental variables, which allow generating a sub environmental pre-contingency system, which alerts the presence of polluting substances to drivers who have MUVES, as well as to society in general through a web and mobile interface. This proposal also proposes the development of a vehicle variable extraction application through the OBD II module, which allows the indicators to be stored in the Big Data Cluster, which allows generating a series of indicators that allow generating a suite of apps that show information on driving habits, pollutants emitted by the vehicle, traffic, fuel consumption, paths travelled, problem detection (Check-Engine Indicator), which increase the safety and comfort of the driver at the wheel. In addition to the proposed modules, an assistance and support module will be generated for the MUVES platform and the environmental pre-contingency system.
