Body sensor network for patient monitoring in hospital settings.
From the technological approach, the 21st century will be characterized as the era of the greatest technological changes in human history. These technological changes will be accompanied by an unprecedented wireless intercom. Therefore, a primary objective of technology will be to combine human mobility with new ICTs to provide a variety of services to people, among the most important, health services. For this, the new mobile devices, together with a robust wireless infrastructure that provides connectivity, will be triggers of a multitude of eHealth applications revolutionizing the current models of protection and health care.
Description
Health service providers seek to reduce the workload of caregivers while granting greater freedom and mobility to patients or anyone who needs to be monitored, all this to improve the quality of life of patients as well as reducing the costs of medical care. In the same way in Mexico, it is a great area of opportunity to improve care in the health care centers.
The proposal described in this document is the development and implementation of a network of body sensors to monitor patients in hospital settings. Said system consists of a wearable device, a wireless communications network and a server responsible for receiving, storing and processing the data. The information generated by the system can be consulted through the internet, thus allowing doctors and authorized personnel to have an overview of the health status of users. Besides, the system will have the ability to send notifications when the values received are not as expected, adding another degree of reliability to medical care.
Another of its virtues will be to create reports of historical data by patient, data that can be very useful when making diagnoses. The purpose of this system is to provide a tool for monitoring, prediction, and diagnosis of health personnel that allows them to have a general and constant view of patients/users. It offers the possibility of recording, warning and consulting the health status through variables such as peripheral temperature, heart rate, oximetry, the galvanic response of the skin and body position.
The proposing company has all the capacity to generate an ideal environment to implement and test the proposed system, an environment replicable by any public or private health institution in the country. In addition, experts in the area of health will be involved throughout the project. This in order to achieve a product of great impact and utility.
